about me

Meet Lizzie:
student, blogger, & eco activist
Hello there! Welcome to my eco-friendly fashion blog, Renewable Raid! My name is Elizabeth Popovic and I am an Art Management major at Appalachian State University. Passion has always been one of my defining traits; it’s why I’ve decided to make a career out of introducing others to the arts. 🎨
During my time at App State, I’ve become equally passionate about sustainable clothing. My university has a passion for sustainability, which they’ve shown through their architecture, course programs, volunteer projects, and so on.
I’ve also joined a number of clubs on campus where I’ve met many students who have a passion for sustainability. They swear by secondhand shopping, research brands, and even sew their own clothing. These influences pushed me to consider my own relationship to the clothes I buy and wear. I realized then that there was lots of room for improvement. 📏
With that, I knew I wanted to get involved in the conversation around the fashion industry. I considered posting about it on my social media channels, but I quickly realized I wanted to write more than could fit in a single post. I was new to all this and wanted to share my findings and experiences with others.
This is when I realized a blog would be the perfect format. I could track my progress and provide useful information along the way. Plus, I’ve always wanted to design my own website and this was the perfect opportunity! 💻
I hope my passion for sustainable fashion is visible as you scroll through my blog. It is as much for you as it is for me. You can find true stories, vetted clothing recommendations, and so much more. Also, don’t forget to follow my blog @renewableraid on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
Fashion is one of the most wasteful industries in the world, and I hope to help through spreading awareness. Together, I believe we can all make a difference. 🌎
