Hello all! Last week I introduced myself and provided insight into my goal of becoming a sustainable consumer. This week, I wanted to share an important visual which discusses sustainable fashion practices. A Fashion Waste Awareness Study conducted by thredUP found that 92% of women polled said they wanted to reduce their ecological footprint, but 2 out of 3 didn’t know where to start (thredUP News).

In my personal experience, becoming conscious of how you impact the world around you is a great starting place. Everything really does start with you, and acknowledging the multitude of ways you could change your lifestyle for the better. By adjusting your daily activities to better conserve and reuse resources, you are already having a positive impact on the environment. 🌄

You might be asking yourself what one person curbing their carbon footprint could do in the grand scheme of things, and that’s a crucial thought. Reducing your footprint first and foremost solidifies your dedication to having a positive impact on the environment. As you make these small changes, you may notice a change in your shopping habits as well. Not only would you shop more sustainably, but you may find yourself abstaining from a shopping trip or two altogether.

Many of the tips included below are indeed relevant to shopping habits, and so we will branch off to your role as a consumer. As you read, I hope you will consider checking off each activity listed in this visual. I believe that each of these steps will help you to create the sustainable future you’re looking for. ✨

I love that you provided simple ways to reduce your carbon footprint. The world seems to be much more environmentally conscious than it was a few years ago, and many more people are looking for ways to be more sustainable to our Earth. I love thrifting and I always wear my clothes until they're falling apart, but these are great tips to help even more!

This is so cool! I have heard about the footprint of the fashion industry, but it isn't as easy to find steps you can take today to lower your footprint. Thanks for sharing this information!
